The streams and rivers that flow on the valleys, in particular the Magra and Vara, are a great attraction for those who do kayaking, canoeing, rafting, canyoning and hydrospeed.
Moving up in altitude, in the Ligurian Appennines, you can enjoy trekking trial, mountain bike and horse riding he mountains. For the golfers who don’t want to get too tired, they can relax with different types of “green”: the 4 holes of “The Golf of Cà del Moro resort” in Pontremoli, the 9 holes of the “Golf Marigola in Lerici” , a delightful environment from the natural point of view, or the 18 holes of “Versilia Golf” in Forte dei Marmi. A few nautical miles away, there are Portovenere and the Palmaria Island, a world apart of great natural beauty, here there is the sunny beach of “Cala Fornace” which has turquoise waters, and is accessible only by sea. Another of the most famous beach is “Baia Blu”, between Punta Santa Teresa and Punta Galera. Other interesting and beautiful beaches are located in the area of Lerici and Fiascherino, a very special and great for English poets as Byron and Shelley. Further west, the rocky coast of the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there are small beaches such as Manarola and Monterosso or the dark ones of Bonassola and Framura. All located among the rocks, with a sand made of a thousand pebbles polished in every color, the same which is inspired the Ligurian pastry in its delicious Sea Pebbles with chocolate and almonds.
In the eastern coast, the sandy beaches of Versilia, run over 20 km on the Tuscan coast, there you can found a series of beaches super equipped and well-known including the one of Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta, Lido di Camaiore and Viareggio.
