Porto Mirabello is one of the few, in the Mediterranean area, suitable to host super yachts. Beyond the structure of our piers, perfect even for large boats, Porto Mirabello is a Marina able to ensure an effective safety system for the traffic of boats and passengers.
In December 2002, just over a year after the attack on the Twin Towers in New York, under pressure from the United States, IMO – ISPS Code was issued. The new mandatory provisions issued to strengthen the protection of maritime transport envisage a set of security measures articulated on three levels whose concrete implementation is correlated to a careful risk analysis.
In particular, the new order for naval transport makes the identification of responsible parties mandatory for the correct application of safety measures both for ships and for port facilities.
The contents of the security plan of the port facility concern:
- Access to the Port Facility: there is a strict control of access to port areas, to ensure both security and user safety
- Restricted areas
- Load handling
- Deliveries of on-board supplies
- Handling of unaccompanied baggage
- Surveillance and patrolling
- Security communication
- Training, information and familiarization
The program for Porto Mirabello is for commercial yachts over 500 gross tonnage.
